The Effects of College Students' Job Value on Career Preparation Behavior by the Medium of Work Hope and Job Seeking Efficacy

Abstract

|
This study was conducted to understand the effects of college students’ job value on career preparation behavior by the medium of work hope and job seeking efficacy, and 181 questionnaires collected from students in province J were used as analysis data. The analysis result showed that job value and work hope, and job value and job seeking efficacy, and job value and career preparation behavior had a statistically significant positive (+) correlation respectively, and job value had a significant influence on career preparation behavior, and the higher job value, the higher career preparation behavior. With job value, work hope and job seeking efficacy being the independent variables, and career preparation behavior being the dependent variable, multiple regression analysis was done, and the result showed that job seeking efficacy and work hope influenced career preparation behavior in that order, and the path analysis using AMOS found that job value influenced career preparation behavior with work hope and job seeking efficacy being the mediator variables. Accordingly, to increase the level of college students’ career preparation behavior, it will be necessary to plan and find ways to increase the level of job value, work hope and job seeking efficacy respectively.
